Ο Τσιτσιπάς επέστρεψε με ανατροπή στις νίκες!

 O Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς (Νο 80) επέστρεψε τις νίκες και προκρίθηκε στον 2ο γύρο του  WTA 1000 στη Μαδρίτη. 

 Μετά από τρεις ήττες στη σειρά, επικράτησε του Αμερικανού Πάτρικ Κίπσον (Νο.90) , αφού  χρειάστηκε να κάνει μεγάλη προσπάθεια για να φτάσει στην ανατροπή  με 3-6, 7-6(6), 7-6(4) σε 2 ώρες και 38 λεπτά, στην πρεμιέρα του στο τουρνουά. 

 

 Στη συνέχεια θα αντιμετωπίσει  τον Αλεξάντερ Μπούμπλικ (Νο.11) από τα Καζακστάν. Το πρώτο σετ ολοκληρώθηκε με συνοπτικές διαδικασίες, καθώς ο Κίπσον, έκανε  break μόλις στο δεύτερο game.

 Η εικόνα ήταν διαφορετική στο δεύτερο σετ, ο Τσιτσιπάς ήταν καλύτερος και οδήγησε το σετ στο tie-break. Ενώ έκανε το 5-0, ο Αμερικανός  ισοφάρισε (5-5), αλλά ο Έλληνας πρωταθλητής με 8-6 πόντους ισοφάρισε τα σετ σε 1-1.

 Ανάλογη η συνέχεια στο τρίτο σετ, που οδηγήθηκε σε tie-break. Ο Τσιτσιπάς μπήκε μπροστά (3-0),  ισοφαρίστηκε (3-3) και τελικά πανηγύρισε με 7-4 πόντους και 2-1 σετ.
