Στους «16» ο Τσιτσιπάς

Ο Στέφανος Τσιτσιπάς προκρίθηκε στη φάση των «16» του Μόντε Κάρλο χωρίς να... ιδρώσει, μετά την αποχώρηση του Μπενζαμέν Μπονζί, λόγω τραυματισμού του στην εκκίνηση του μεταξύ τους αγώνα, για τον 2ο γύρο του Masters 1000 στο πριγκιπάτο. 

Ο 26χρονος Γάλλος τενίστας (νο50 στον κόσμο) πήρε ιατρικό time-out μετά το τρίτο game, με τον φυσιοθεραπευτή να του δένει το χέρι για να συνεχίσει. Ο Μπονζί έμεινε στον αγωνιστικό χώρο για άλλα δύο games, αλλά στη συνέχεια δεν άντεξε και εγκατέλειψε... 

Για την... ιστορία, το σκορ ήταν 4-1 υπέρ του Στέφανου Τσιτσιπά, πριν αποχωρήσει ο Μπονζί.

Στους «16» ο Έλληνας πρωταθλητής θα αντιμετωπίσει την Μεγάλη Πέμπτη (13/4) τον νικητή του ζευγαριού Νικολάς Τζάρι-Άλεξ Πόπιριν (12/4).
